when i burn the video ts to the hdd and try to open it in nero it says it cant be done and then when i try to open it in dvd shrink and reauthhor it with the menu then it turns the menu into part of the movies and just plays thru it. so i tried to burn it with the TMPGEnc DVD Author dvd burner and it still wont work can any one help me thanks.

When you say, "open it in Nero", what exactly are you trying to do, with what part of Nero?
If it's Nero Burning Rom, you can simply choose the DVD Video template, drag and drop the VIDEO_TS folder from right to left, and burn it.
You do not need to open it in Nerovision or any other thing.

I am trying to burn it to the dvd with the menu on it but it keeps saying error. Nero smartstart

Don't use smartstart.
Open Nero burning rom, select DVD Video from the templates listed, drag VIDEO_TS folder from right to left, burn.
If you get an error, go to nero.com and update your nero.
