Okay, I ordered a cd from this store online. The cd was cracked/damaged, so i returned it. I keep e-mailing them and get nothing back. What i was wondering is, who do I take it up with and if anything what can i do about it?
maybe some of you might know, where i can go for something like this or how to go about it.
thanks a whole lot in advance-
bob

Bob - What country are you in and what country is the site registered to ? If both are in the UK they are governed by UK Trading Standards laws. I would suggest emailing the company again with a veiled threat of Trading Standards, this might be enough to get them to at least answer you...
Good Luck

Trading Standards in the UK deal with Rogue Traders - have you got an institution like that in the states? Like a government body or authority you can threaten them with?

How did you pay for it? I'm guessing credit card? contest the charges ... let them know you've mailed it back because it was damaged. Did the store have a return policy?

you have to call your credit card company. And anytime you send something back you should get it certified if sent USPS ... that way you get some sort of confirmation.
How did you mail it?

well you'll have a problem proving you sent it back. I would still contact your credit card and contest the charges.
And maybe if you can leave a bad feedback. where did you order it from?

Well it could work in your favour aswell, contest the charges and say that you never received it in the first place.

Things do get lost, if there was no signee to say that it was received, you never now.
I have done that in the UK, except all my initial comms was via the telephone.
If no RMA was issued, then there is no record of the the dispute really, and if there is no record of someone signing receivership for it, well go get em'..............LOL

next time, just for your information, if you use USPS in the States to send out a package/envelope/whatnot, there is a very CLEAR and inexpensive way to send it, it's called "Delivery Confirmation" it's $0.45 in addition to actual postage paid on said parcel~ :P
i have a business online and i send ALL my packages out using USPS Priority Mail, so delivery confirmation is free for me since i print my labels and such at home then just drop off the packages at the post office~ :)
just a very simple and effective way to have PROOF of delivery, you pay for it and fill out the address portion, the post office gives you YOUR copy to keep and it has a tracking number on it; at less than 50 cents, it's very cost effective~
hope that helps you out in the near future~ should an RMA or return arise~ :)

VERY good point baabaa...if you did not have a "signature required" at time of delivery, you could pull this one off rather easily w/ your credit card company~ :P

Did you fill out a returns request form with them?
Did you receive an RMA?
Did you do as instructed?
Returns policy:
Request authorization to return any unused/unopened product for a refund within 7 days of receipt.
Request authorization to exchange defective products within 7 days of receipt (exchanged for same title only).
Mis-ships must be reported within 48 hours of receipt.
***Before you return anything, you must fill out our Returns Request form and get authorization for return and/or re-shipment.***
Please send all returns to Sandbox Automatic, 245 West 29th Street, 9th Floor, New York, NY, 10001, Attn: Returns.YOU MUST INCLUDE A PRINTED COPY OF THE RETURN AUTHORIZATION E-MAIL WE SEND TO YOU IN ORDER TO BE PROCESSED
If you did, then the only thing you could do really is ring them, and be very polite, explain the situation and also that you are becoming a retailer and would be considering using them as your supplier, also try and mention some other 'major online stores', but you would prefer to use them as their policies and customer service far exceeds others that you have come across and if possible try and talk to a female representative.
Most companies react differently to different people, especially if you are calm, polite and sometimes honest.
See where that gets you, remember be polite, explain the situation, and don't be aggressive.
Failing that, then you may have to ask the credit card about their procedures, but I think that'll be a no brainer with them.......
Sorry I couldn't give you anymore than that...............
