Hello.I'm kinda new to this things when it comes to PS2 backup.
I tried burning a game in alcohol 120%, but it didn't work with my COGSWAP.I think i must burn it with some wrinting method. Can you tell me what method should i use?
And what about DVD rips?If they are less than 700 MB, can i write them to CD's?If i can, how?

And also, i know this isn't the right place, but where can i learn about putting nstc games to PAL?

Thank you very much in advance

PS2 games are actually pressed DVD/CD discs, they are not burned. PS2 games use the Burst Cutting Area (BCA) of the disc to identify themselves to the PS2 unit. The BCA is not part of a disc that you can burn on, it is only replicated on pressed discs.

So, the only way to play backups is to get boot-discs or a mod-chip.

For ps1 games and/or dvd-rips WITHOUT a modchip you will need
'Breaker Pro' software.

For ps2 games backups WITHOUT a modchip, you will need Swap magic disks
(Boot-discs). Http://www.swapmagic3.com

Cogswap-alone will do nothing,
It was intended for use WITH the older versions of swap magic,
It has since become obsolete since the newer versions of swapmagic do not need it.

Wait.I know all that. It's just because i had a CD-rom backup here, and i wasn't gettin it to work.I have already done it with DVD-r backups.

But i tried burning again with Alcohol 120% and better cd's, and it works just fine know.

Thanks anyway for the info and help.

Oh wait, could you answer my other question?

i don't have the cogswap, i bought the slide card separatly, and did the expliot to my memory card.

But is it the swap better?

I looked at a site wich has fixes for games that don't run with SM, and i saw that GTA3 needed one.But i my copy works just fine with CogSwap Loader.

The newest versions of swapmagic 3.3 and 3.6 dont need the fixes,
or loaders,
Only the older versions need them.
