Hi, I am pretty much a newbie and I have a question for you guys! My friend has burnt a disc using DVDShrink and has resulted in two folders: AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. she then put the two folders into another folder and burnt the whole folder onto a dvd-r. I tried to put the disc into a dvd player and it didn't work. I gathered that for the disc to work, the disc just needs the two folders present. so then I tried to copy the two folders onto a dvd+RW disc with nero but it says that there isn't enough space on disc! so I bought some DVD+Rs and thought it was due to the disc being RW that it wouldn't burn... but it STILL won't work, and the weird thing is that when I look in "My computer", the DVD RW drive is just called "CD DRIVE" and I can't seem to view the capacity of the disc... what am I doing wrong??!

The DVDRW drive still writes data onto DVDRs... is this something to do with the fact I have alcohol 120 and the fact that there is a virtual drive?? DO I have to use DVD-R s? what am I doing wrong?? please can someone help??

many thanks

I think your problem will be fixed if you burn just the files that are in the VIDEO_TS folder (should be a bunch of VOB, IFO, and BUP files). If that doesn't work, try burning the VIDEO_TS folder itself.

yes I have tried burning the video_TS and the audio_TS folders onto disc but it said it won't fit - but I don't understand, I copied the files OFF a disc - how can it not fit if I got it off a disc?! ALso why is the audio_TS folder empty?

audio_ts is only used when burning a DVD-Audio disc. DVD-Video uses the Video_Ts folders. Try NOT burning any folders. Just get all the files that are inside the video_ts folder and burn them.

As far as it not fitting, if you didn't mess around with any settings in DVD Shrink you should have enough room, unless you saw some red in the green bar at the top of the screen in DVD Shrink. Default target size in DVD Shrink is 4464 MB, many people change this to 4360 or 4300 MB as to not burn to the edge of the disc to avoid media flaws. If your target is higher, you should try to lower it. If you get some red in the bar no matter what you do, try getting rid of some audio.

Just run DVD Shrink again on the copied dvd,
It will re-analyze and it shouldnt need any further compression.

To maximize playability I would Use DVD Shrink to burn,
with the +r media and change the booktype to dvd-rom.
