yo, a long long time ago i bought a swap magic and flip set V2.2 for my version 1 ps2.
to cut a long story short i purchased an xbox and then put the ps2 under my bed for a long time, now i am wanting to start to play it again, the version i have 2.2 which is no longer compatable with the new games which i am wishing to play, for example devil may cry 3, metel gear solid 3 and gran turismo 4.
i am looking into purchasing the new disk 3.6 and was wondering if this is fully compatable with the newest games other wise i think its a mod chip job as i carnt afford to keep buying new disks.
i am aware that games need patches and have visted the swap magic patch site, if these are still needed could some one then please explain what to do with the file once i have it downloaded and the game ripped onto my computer,
also is there any chance of getting a PS1 boot disk for my version of PS2, i know when ifve looked in the past this wasent availble

i shall go with 3.6 then, i have just seen what you mean about the GT4 threads, may try and pick this game up off ebay then lol,
i have a dual layer burner but havent been sucesfull with burning any dual layer games yet. before there was a single dvd5 version of halo 2 i tried with the dual layer version with no luck, it played but just crashed dureing cut scenes thouh that could of been becasue of the media. i ended up downloading a version lol.
just one thing though will i still need to patch the games, or if i rip them straight of the disk like i used to will they still work.

ok, i just got a copy of 3.6, with the slide tool which i dont need as i have already got a flip top lol for £18 including postage and package so should arrive soon this week hopefully.
anybody got any input on the patches and a PS1 swap disk please
your not going to need them, swap magic 3.6 wont need those things yet!
the pathces are only used on lower than version 3.3 for games that wont boot
ps1 swap disc im not sure about, however there is a method to back them up on to dvds with a menu so you can have like 4 on a disc with a nice little menu to select which one
right, thx you have been great, wasent sure about the patches just things i had read in other threads. i will check the link out in a sec, i should be fine know then.
the PS1 thing isent essental as i have a PS1 emulator and which reads my ps1 disks on my PC, the controles are a bit shoddy though so just wanted to see if i could play my old games on the PS2 obvisouly they are copied, i have like 200+ should never of sold my ps1 really but hey, its not too bad.
well i should probally get off and do some revision now, got A level exams next week, so wont be playing much games for a while lol,
