Hello. I've been using dvdshrink and dvd decrypt for about 7 months now. While trying to backup a movie lastnight, I get the "cycle redundency error" message. I then took it to dvd decrypter and it went fine. When opening the image file that dvd decrypter made, a message popped up saying "Invalid UDF filesystem". Now, I have done movies this way in the past when dvd shrink wont work correctly. Any idea what this means? Thanks for the help.
It means that DVD Shrink couldn't understand the ISO file. Might be caused by corrupted data in the file. Maybe try using file mode in decrypter or get another disc of the movie.
I now have 3 movies in a row that keep giving me "failed to read file D:\". This has happenned out of nowhere and I have no freakin reason why. Any ideas?
I have now tried to open already backed up dvd's, cleaning the dvd burner. Still getting the error message. I pop in a movie and it plays fine. I'm confused. If it cant read the dvd then why can I watch a movie in it? I also downloaded the most up to date programs.
Is it possible dvdshrink is on the fritz? I can play movies, play games, burn dvd's and cd's. The only thing not working is when trying to read a dvd through dvdshrink. It also will not read file or iso format from DVD Decrypter. My media is fine. I took a cd I burned a week ago and tried to burn it again, still getting the "failed to read file D:\\" message. Perhaps a piece of software is messing up DVD Shrink? Oh well, last resort I'll reformat my HD, need to do it anyways.
The problem is not either from DVD Shrink or DVD Decrypter. Usually DVD movies are scrambled with one set of key only (Menus, main movie, and extras). But some of the new DVDs uses different set of Keys for each parts (one set for Menus, another for movies etc.....) DVD Shrink has trouble to shrink these newer DVDs. Fortunately DVD Decrypter can still rip them outta DVDs.
Now what u need to do is to copy the DVD movies into your computer HD using DVD Decrypter and select ISO read format. (I hated those video_ts folder, they never worked for me personally) After DVD Decrypter finishes the job. The ISO should be about 6-7 GB, use the DVD Shrink and load up the ISO from the HD. You should know the rest from there......
