I was wondering with my backups from my Hard drive of Movies it seems like sometimes they backup successfully with the decrypter. However, sometimes they don't. I get a crc message. So i know that it's either a bad copy or maybe i should clean the original copy b4 i use the shrink on it. But my question to you is what kind of media could i use to practice with that r inexpensive? The reason being b/c i am using my dvd+r and it makes me mad when it i waste one while burning it.. thx.

try some dvd+rewritables~ you can usually purchase them locally in a 5 pack or 3 pack (that's all you need really, you can test on them and erase them fully to rewrite again and again after you have finished). :)

i have had good testing results with a 15 pack of Maxell dvd+rw (rewritables) that i picked up during an Office Depot sale for $10~
office depot always has maxell sales, just gotta jump in at the right time~ the sku # for the office depot Maxell dvd+rw is 274-784 (in case you wanted to check it out online) :)

hope that offers you a good start for "testing discs"

aww thx. How do i erase them? Also, i was noticing that best buy has a good deal for 50pk fuji dvd+r 8x $39.00. Now at Sam's Club there r vertabim 8x dvd+r 50pk $20.00. Now i was wondering which brand do u think is better? They both read nicely on my burner...

@lisa32 - i'm sure most burning programs will cater for erasing rewritables. I'll leave the Fuji vs Verb choice down to Kivory666..

hehehe~ :P

hi lisa,

well, if the fuji's are $39 for 50pk as you say they are, i would DEFINITELY HOLD OFF on them...bestbuy had a sale earlier this week for 100pk Fuji's for $40~ MUCH better deal~

when comparing media, the prices now are about $0.40/each for a GOOD deal on Taiyo Yudens~ and same goes for Verbatims~
the Sam's club deal you speak of is MUCH better~ 50pk/$20, or 100pk/$40 that is a GOOD price range~

while i would recommend EITHER of them, i personally picked up another 100pk of Fuji 8x dvd+r MADE IN JAPAN from bestbuy earlier this week~ for $40/100pk (make sure to look for this on the packaging, it is located right above the barcode on the spindle, the Made In Japans are Taiyo Yudens, the made in taiwan are NOT) :P

i really like the Verbatim's from Sam's club too, i get mine for another source, but, the pricing is almost identical~ i prefer the 8x dvd+r format which are the MCC003 media code which my burners just LOVE as well~

the choice is really up to you...TY or Verb~ both will serve you right~ :) just make sure when buying the fuji's, look for made in japan on the packaging...and always consider a good deal at approximately $0.40/each disc or $20/50pk or $40/100, i would NEVER pay $40 for a 50pk~ that is 80 cents/disc, NOT worth it~ :P

good luck`

They still have the Fuji's on sale for 100 @ $39.99. Just come home with one myself. I got the +R's so I can booktype them. Tested them with DVDinfo and they ring up as YUDEN000T02's. Be sure to check where they are made. Look right right above the bar code. You want the one's made in Japan as kivory666 stated. It's also on top of the disc's themselves but it's hard to see looking through the cake box.

well, as swervin mentioned, i GUESS they are still on sale, i don't know how long they will be on sale, but, if it's convenient for you lisa, pick up those fujis (MIJ) 100pk/$40~ that is good price~ OR if the Verbs are readily available to you from Sam's club, 50pk/$20~ equally good deal~

i highly recommend BOTH media brands~ Verbatims will be made in taiwan most likely, but, that should not worry you, ALL my hundreds of Verbs are MIT (made in taiwan); it's the Fuji and Sony dvd+r that you should specifically look for the MIJ (Made in Japan) as those are the genuine Taiyo Yudens, the Fujis made in taiwan are DEFINITELY NOT Taiyo Yuden~ :P
