I know how to convert DivX or XviD to dvd but...
a) It's out of sync
b) I tried the way where you save the WAV from the XviD in VDUBB then I also added that WAV to the AUDIO TEMPGENC and added the original XviD file in the video part too and it says it takes like 9-10 hours, My pc is relatively fast enough to handle something like this I think but 9-10 hours can't be right when I save to AVI file is it?
If thats correct then thats crazy and is there any way that I could possibly make it faster or am I doing something wrong?
All help greatly appreciated :)

That's about right, given the average settings in TMPGEnc.
It is EXTREMELY slow.
Try mainconcept, Canopus, CCE, Quenc, or Freenc, all faster than TMPGEnc.

Are all those programs just as easy as TMPGEnc?

Man, talk about deja vu! I went through something very similar a few months past and, at the time, I just had to post a Rant to get it off my chest! Check this out: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/148708 Just want to let you know that you are not alone in wondering why such a mediocre bunch of programs get so much attention here.
By the way, I still swear by Nero! Lawmanxxx

If you want stupidly easy, get VSO DivX to DVD.
If you want to do a proper job, try one of the encoders above.
If Nerovision Express works for you, use it...personally, I think Nero's encoder sucks.

I only use Canopus Procoder 2 when converting avi to dvd. This works works with all files!!!!
Before using these programs i tried all the other ones out there: avi2dvd,TMPGenc,DVDSanta and the rest but i had
sync probs with audio and subs but no more probs now!
Heres what i do and it works every time! Canopus Procoder 2.This prog supports all files!!!!! It really is the best.
Start Canopus Procoder if you have 2 avi files then put a tick in the stitch box as this will join the files together,
then choose a target which will be dvd PAL or whatever you wish to do then click convert Then hit convert, then unclick preview as this will slow down convertion.
Encoding takes between 4 to 8 hrs but its so worth it! The finished result is a high quality dvd!!!
Hope this helps

If you paid for it, contact Canopus.
If you didn't pay for it, don't ask.
Try Mainconcept. At least you can download a 30 day demo.
Canopus Procoder Express also have a download...and I think CCE basic has a demo as well.
If you want free, try HCEnc, QuEnc, or Freenc.

It's just a pity and a shame that there isn't a single program that will just let you strip the audio in one press and then the seconds part that can just reattach the audio but in MP3 or whatever it needs to be, Joining is easy enough with almost any program but its a pain when the sync goes like that.

The dongle thing you are talking about will go away if installed properly.
Uninstall the canopus then reboot pc.
when booted back up hold everything including external hard drives and close all programs in the taskbar even unplug router.........this works best.
