trouble installing updates from live update

I have the v330 which requires me to do a live update of the product that I just downloaded. The live update install errors out with a registration error, "unable to decompress a file" please contact tech supt. I have tried uninstalling, installing lower versions of the software and following some info from Motorola help desk. All these tries end up in the same errors.
Question 1)How come they product download that I did less than a week ago from helomoto isn't the latest version of the software?

2)Does anyone know how to get around this error as it's rendering the software useless to me.
