I just decided to inform you guys about the KVCD.
now there is no definitive program to convert a dvd to kvcd.
not to fear, phantom69 is here.
you see, the special thing about KVCD is that you can fit almost 3 hours of reasonable quality movie onto 1 cd, catch this, it works in a dvd player.
yup, just use NTI (or similar) and burn the .mpg file as a vcd, to a cd, hey presto you got a working cd that contains the entire movie and is playable in a dvd player. Hey! Hey!
well enough about that, heres how you make one;
presuming you already have a working DVD to AVI converter such as DVDx or XMPEG, a sound knowledge of these and TMPGEnc.
Okay, first you rip the dvd to avi, no need for hdd ripping, just dvd to avi, then you search in google for a kvcd template for TMPGEnc, they arn't that hard to find or see below. once you have converted the AVI file to KVCD, just burn as a vcd to a cd with nero or preferably NTI, try it. I warn you though it could possibly take you aup to 5 or so hours all together, depending on the speed of your computer.
for templates go to:
http://kvcd.net/dvd-models.html please give it a try and post info about your results, the site has got a great selection of templates with massive amounts of video capability.
