My system shuts down at about 50 percent written to disk.Iam using dvdxcopy express. I have nero 6 installed so I believe it would be using those drivers.Any thoughts on what the problem might be.

Why not just try using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. There are online guides at this site.
