Here is the link, its a Canadian chain called Future Shop --> http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?sku_id=0665000FS1...

The one thing is, are Kodak DVD-Rs any good? The price sure is great. Any thoughts or opinions?

Thanks

Well I really do not recommend to buy no name or store branded DVD's those kodak DVD's the price looks good but you dont know what you can get?? you could get the super TY's or the Crapola CMC, So I recommend you to email kodak or the actual store so they can tell you who makes the disc, then from that info you could decide if buying or not, you could also email other people that have used those Kodak branded DVD to see if their good and maybe they can provide you with the media ID (although some companies outsource their disc to several companies), the safe think should be taking a decision after having an idea of who makes these discs.

From what I can see from

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdmedia.php?dvdmediasearch=kodak&dvdmed...

and

http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

I would say you have a 50/50 chance of getting 4th class media. CMC Mag and Vanguard are bad quality Prodisk is okay, and the fourth code MAM4XG02 I have not heard of.

Oh well, I guess it was too good to be true. I'll stick with the Verbatims I have been using. Thanks for the insight fellas.

Verbatim is excellent media, you would be wise to stick with it, the only thing better is Taiyo Yuden. :~)

Thank you for the compliment, coming from the TY army leader it is special. I am now waiting patiently for TY dual layer to come out, have got to see how it tests out against Verb which came out very good.

LOL

hi auslander, i have used hundreds of Ritek G05s in the past, they are great~ flawless burns with them as well~ other than the MCC coding i get from my Verbatims made in taiwan, the ritek G05s are the ONLY other media i would suggest to anyone on a budget that are made in taiwan~ :P

i know many people have had problems with Riteks, but i for one, have not~ and im pretty sure Rotary uses Riteks as well for many of his backups and he definitely KNOWs his stuff~ :P

what works for some, might not for others, but, i have had good success w/ Riteks myself (in the past, but they still playback just fine) :)

have a good one~
