if the image file(bin/cue)is SVCD use this guide:.
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/svcd_to_dvdr_from_img.cfm
:. to mount image use daemon tools instead of alcohol 120%....d-tools is free.

For VCD use this guide:.
http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vcd_to_dvd-r.cfm

if you want to convert the image to avi you'll need to extract the mpeg stream from the image first with isobuster:. http://www.isobusterdownload.com/isobuster_eng.zip
load bin image into isobuster, double click on mpeg2 folder(for SVCD image) then right click on avseq01.mpg and select 'extract but filter only m2f2 mpeg frames'.

for vcd its a little different but not much. load the image into isobuster, double click on the 'mpegav' folder, then right click on 'avseq01.dat' and again select the 'extract but filter only m2f2 mpeg frames' option. now when your selecting which folder you want it extracted to, make sure you put a .mpg extention on the end of the file name or else isobuster will extract the file with a .dat extention which is unusable in most editing software.

now that you have your mpeg1/2 file you'll be wanting to convert it to an avi format which best suits your needs, the most popular avi codecs that are used today are xvid & divx(i prefer xvid). if your file is mpeg2(svcd) then the easiest option would be to use gordian knot, or better yet auto gordian knot....AGK is a real no brainer, you should have any troubles using it:. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_capture_to...

im not a big fan of converting mpeg1(vcd) to avi because the resolution is already quite low, but if you want to then you can use a prog like virtual dub, its a bit more involved than agk but its still quite easy:. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/dawnload.cfm?mirror=0&software_...

hope that answers your question, if ya get stuck on something let me know and we'll sort it out.

i used to hate going to weddings, all the old dears would poke me and say "your next", they stopped saying it after i did it to them at funerals -Chopper Reid-
