i think we determined my desktop just doesn't have enough juice (P3 800mhz) to get below an hour for the encoding portion.
was hoping to cut down on the wear and tear on the laptop, but am mainly using it for my burning (p4 2.66ghz).
i am still hoping to find a utility that will allow my burner (HL-DT-ST-DVD +RW GCA-4040N) to change the bookmark to mark the dvd+r as dvd rom on burning....every once in a while, i get a burn that won't play in the bedroom dvd player, but will play in the living room dvd player. (i only use decrypter/shrink)
by the way, what is the easiest way to erase my dvd +rw?
hope everything is going well with you.
the Verbatims seem to be doing well, thinking about ordering another 100 from amazon before they go up (seems like amazon has crappy shipping leading to some damaged dvds)

Quote: You can even use DVD Decrypter to erase / format your rewritable media!
- found that decrypter can do it. Had to google search as i don't use decrypter to burn myself.
found it - tools/drive/erase disc

Heres a weird problem..about 1 in 50 discs..no matter what i use. When I'm checking it w/Dvdinfo..around 1.26gig into the disc,Dvdinfo slows to a snails pace, about 30 sec for 22sectors..it reads ok in green..no red or white..but when i play these discs in my dvd player they lock up at this section of the disc(1.26)..I mean evey disc locks up that this happens to no matter what movie
