I downloaded a movie as a avi. I used tmpgenc to convert it to vcd. I got no sound. I then used goldwave to convert the audio to wav and then did the conversion and now I have sound with the video.

The problem is I try to burn it with EasyCD VCD burner and it says I have an unreconisable format.

I burn it as a data cd and it plays fine on my puter, with sound, but will not play on my dvd player.

I have burned these things before and played them on that player with no problem.

I am out of ideas

well , if your video is good and playable and audio (wav) too, you're almost done.

use tmpgenc

open tmpgenc, choose vcd ntsc or pal.......

near bottom , in video source choose your video, the audio will load automatically but click audio source too and choose your AUDIO WAV.

press start and wait .

enjoy your new vcd playable on dvd player.

Thanks for the reply but that is where my problem lies. I did exactly that.
I used tmpgenc and loaded my avi file. Below it I loaded the wav file. Then I let it do it's magic.
When it was done, I played it on my computer and everything was great. I put it in my DVD player, which has been fine playing vcd's before and it will not play. I tried it on two different dvd players :( I am stumped.

I first had problems converting it as I had no sound and someone suggested converting it to wav. Now the video and sound are fine but it will not play on the dvd player.

I must be doing some little thing wrong :(

Don't burn higher than 4x and use reliable media!

The burn speed is just a precaution but the media is definite!!!

I have never had any problem with the media and music, which I have burned thousands but the vcd is new to me. I have done a few, with no problem but this is a new one on me. I will give it a try tonight :) Thanks
