Hi All
I have been getting playback problems on my dvd-rw btc 1108 ver 430 player

Using dvd shrink re author for read and dvd decrypter to write, no error msgs ....till decrypter tries to "verify"

here is msg

IO error device dvdrw ata
scsistatus 0x02 interpretation check condition
cdb 28.00.00.00.18 88 00 00 01 00
interpretation read 10 sector 6280
then sector 6304

( I can uncheck ?verify? and it still skips/stalls/jumps during pc playback)

In my research/trial error..I have changed my media from Ridata to TYgo1 (cd identify) and lowered burn speed to
1x ..........
I also get scratchy popping Audio

Dvd player seems to work fine on games/playback of older backups/


wxp sp2 home P4 3 ghz 524 mg ram
btc dvd rw ide1108 b430 ata

everything started at once and Im trying to find that point ....or any ?_ suggestions

Hi Frank

It looks like your media is aok ,,the chances of 2 batchs of 2 different brands are non existant

Try this to verify settings

1.device manager/ide properties/ look for dma on both circuits if not then delete the offending limb and reboot to reinstall the severed limb

2. then dl a program such as Nero info tool and install/run to see what it says about your sys ... look at aspi to see if any error msgs...

3. repair any errors you get and let us know how it went

yes I had lost my aspi layer somehow
yes my dvd switched to pio mode ..
I fixed these two items and burned a disc correctly

two more discs still ok

the next one got the jump/stop errors
reburned it onto ty media and it worked ok ..
I will monitor it for now and give update
