what are u trying to do??? if you are shrinking the video_ts so it will fit on dvd5
then you may have A LOT of problems!!! popcorn usally will screw up about 100% of the time. i recamend using DVD2OneX because it will always work. popcorn sucks and u should return it and get DVD2OneX.

Yes, that is exactly what I am trying to do. I used MTR to rip and DVDRemaster but when I try to transfer to DVD+RW it gives me the note previously stated.
If you say DVD2OneX will work on this, then I suppose I have wasted my money on Popcorn and will put downto experience and get DVD2OneX now

Waveruner....make sure that the original disk is out of your drive when you open PopCorn....the "cannot handle contents...." message could be referring to the disk in the drive. Leave the drive open and do not close a blank disk in the drive until PopCorn says to.....

....and by the way, how many posts does one have to make in order for that "newbie" tag to be removed?

here is a cut and paste off of dvd2one's website....
Processes the movie exactly like the full version, but the output is limited to 30 minutes of video.
Compression ratio based on the full length of the movie, not on the 30 minutes that will be processed.
Evaluation period limited to 14 days.
so... yes, if you only want to watch the first 30 minutes of a film.

Make sure you are using Popcorn version 1.0.2 or greater. Earlier versions don't work with Tiger.

yeah you can do it an other and for free. here's what you do.
1. dl for free DVD Imager.
2.create dvd image with dvd imager.
3. when done start up disk utility.
4 select the image u created and burn it.
5. watch and enjoy.
p.s. this are the instructions that i got from DVD2OneX.
How to use DVD Imager
Just drop any VIDEO_TS folder onto its icon (DVD Imager will create the AUDIO_TS folder for you), click Create, and choose the location where you want the image saved. Destination should be on a local volume. DVD Imager will prompt you to name the image volume, then it will create the disk image and quit. If you have a DVD burner, you should then be able to create a new DVD disk from the image you made with DVD Imager using the Burn Image command in Disk Copy.
How to burn from Apple DiskCopy
Start Disk Copy (OS X utilities folder) and choose Burn Image from the file-menu. Now select the created image and click burn. That's all.

ok..
i did the whole image thing.. got it to work. i'm going to burn it now.. and see how that works.
i just read my original question.. didnt word it right.
i mean..
can i burn using dvd2onex?
and i will post how the burn goes.
UPDATE:
the image was made fine. but the burn was not good.
i went out and picked up some rws.
they play really nice on the ps2. my dvd player i think is just too old to those.
but more importantly.. i realized that i was using memorex media.. for the ones with all the issues.
i hear they arent all that great.
the ps2 is still trying to read the memorex disc. no luck so far.. been like that for like 5mins. the rw, came up almost instantly.
the ones i just got are MAXELL.
i'm out

p.s. 4 my media i use anything that is on sale, but i do agree, memorex do suck, u should use sony, tdk or maxell.

a couple of months ago i tried out www.supermediastore.com (saw the link at www.ripdifferent.com) and i am really happy. i bought a 100pk of taiyo yuden 4x and i haven't had a single coaster. they even play on my ps2, which hates everything except my store bought originals. memorex are the work of the devil. fuji was my second brand and they worked fine but the cost was really expensive. but now i would choose either ritek or taiyo yuden. i am going to do another order soon with supermediastore and i have a couple of friends at work going in on the order with me to cut down on shipping.
