So I just installed a Qoob Pro into my Rev A system, only when I power it on, I'm not getting any audio or video. It has the proper bios on it.
Thoughts?

Do you bridged the two pins where the black cable (Point C) has to be connected?
Thats what happened to me.
After bridging these two pins, my Cube booted.

Try that

I've got a similar problem:

After installing a qoob sx (soldered 3 sx chips before without problems) my new cube is "black". The LED is on, I can hear the fan and the LED on the chip is on, too. Couldn't see any solder-bridges, checked the solder points a couple of times.. but without success.

So I de-soldered the chip but the cube stays "black". I fear the following:

-> Did I burn the mainboard (too much heat)?
-> Did I break the slim controller board cable? (maybe someone here knows what the cube does if you disconnect the controller board?)

Sorry for my bad Englisch.

Did you had hard time soldering the yellow wire?

Is your soldering-iron more than 15 watt?

Yes, I had some unusual problem with the yellow wire because I accidentally bridged the next foot of the chip and then had some problems to de-solder this bridge. Maybe there was too much heat..?

I can change the power/heat of my solderin-iron.

Dude,

the IC's leg which should be connected with the yellow wire need the less heat possible. 15 watt for 1-2 seconds soldering time is enough. NO MORE! It is possible that the IC's leg (yellow wire) is NOT connected any more, with your motherboard. I had an incident so I know this could be the reason or something similar (if you hadn't accidentally bridged anything). I did this....

I tried to solder this leg with pressure and once I made the connection again...the gc opened. Then I tried to attach the chip again.. It worked. I turned off gc... I booted later with no luck.
What I did? New GC with viper (no yellow wire on this IC)

I hope your problem is easier... but that was my story.. :(

Thanks Charis, I'll try to solder the leg with some pressure. Maybe it really has lost contact to the mainboard.

oi friend I had this exactly problem when I installed qoob in my cube, the solution was to leave the linking of the original LID-Switch, and not passing first for qoob. He functions!
