I understand that in order to make a PS2 backup copy you need either a mod or a swap. I also saw on this forum that you can you what some one called a press burner. I was wanting to know if a dvd duplicator is the same as a press burner and if not, can you rent press burners so you dont have to spend $300,000. Thank You
Why don't you just use a dvd burner on your computer, they are cheap now. To boot the ps2 game all you need to do is get a flip top with swap magic from a place like this,http://www.gocybershop.ca/customer/home.php
You can just use your computer DVD burner to burn games.
The brand name of computer burner like Sony, Plaxtor with 16X recording time only about $120USD.
I've used the swap think for the PS2 before, but it wont play some games, so my friend told me to put a modchip instead, the modchip is better, no swap and direct boot.
I've installed a DUO2 SE modchip on my SCPH-39001 V7 PS2 about like 8 month without any problem, plays all kind of PS2 games.
I bough the DUO2 SE modchip from internet about $40 dollars, and I ship the PS2 to pstwomods for the installation about $50 dollars, so about less hundred, and within 8 months, I save more than 4 hundreds on games. I play the backup GT4, God of War etc with no problem at all.
If you look for a place to install modchip, I recomman pstwomods, they are the lowest price for the installation comparing other place over the internet.
