Problem capturing DV in Nero Vision Express 2

I have just bought a Firewire card and cable to allow me to capture video from my Sony miniDV camcorder to record onto DVD using my DVD RW drive. I already had Nero 6 which includes Vision Express 2. I used this to capture the video, to add transitions, create a menu etc. I then burned the project unto a DVD-R disc. This plays fine on the PC using the software DVD player, however on any DVD-player I have tried the video plays with a very irritating judder or flicker on the TV. A friend give me Uleads DVD Factory 3 (after he purchased a newer package). I recaptured the video using this package (which is very unfriendly to use), but it crashed every time I tried to burn a DVD. I then used the file it had captured in Nero Vision Express 2, created menus etc and burned the disk. This time the video plays perfectly over the TV. i therefore assume that it is not Neros disk burning that is the problem, but is something I am doing wrong while using Nero to capture the video. Has anyone any idea what is wrong. I captured the video in 'DVD format', should I try capturing it as DV format 1 or 2 instead?

PS since I posted this I found a post in a different forum, on the same issue. That person had found that when he used Nero Vision Express to capture is video and then burn the DVD she got the same shudder when played over the TV. He discovered however that if he used DVDshrink to copy the disk, the copy of the disk played perfectly!
