i have ripped "Emperor's New Groove" using "DVD decrypter" (i cant seem to get smart ripper to work, the only tab on the left pane if the "settings" tab, no start or any other?) anyway, "decrypter chooses the vobs automatically and they appear to be the right ones. when i use avi2dvd and select the first vob to open all the others follow it along, as they should, no problems here. but when i hit F5 to do a preview and get the stats, the video type bounces back and forth between NTSC and Film and the frame type bounces back and forth between progressive and interlaced. i let the preview run for a long time to see if it would make up its mind. it didnt. also, in the preview pane, when the film is running, the video sequence keeps repeating itself. it will play three seconds of video, then play the same three seconds again, then move on, play another segment, repeat it and move on and so on. ALSO there is an opening text on the screen, which says "long ago in a jungle blah blah blah" (the blah blahs are mine :) then it says the same text, only this time in french! i have track number one selected in the audio properties tab and all other settings are as per the excellent guide posted on this site. i have had great sucess in the past ripping other dvd's and converting to vcd, i dont know whats up? any help??
thanks, falcor

Have you had any success yet solving this problem. I am also having a problem with the Cosmos DVD set flipping back and forth between interlaced and progressive. Let me know if you figured out why.

Thanks.
