Forgive me if i have chosen the wrong forum but i couldn't see any other forum which would be relevant to my question.
i'm looking for a software which can edit videos by cutting not only clips but parts of it. like cutting out the background and adding another background to it and stuffs like that.
i have check sony vegas, pinnacle studio, etc but they dont seem to work.. which one is the best according to you? thank you

ditto. Don't waste your money on cheap "all in one" editors. They nothing but crap and will cause you many headaches. go with premiere pro

YOu you guys mean to say that premiere pro will be able to cut the parts of backgrounds or watever it is like you can do in photoshop using 'eraser' or the 'magic wand' in premiere pro...
i want the effect to be somthing of that stuff? thanx guys. pliz reply

no, you need photoshop to do that. import the clip to premiere, and export it as a film strip. then you can erase whatever you don't want in photoshop. that or you could use after effects, but you need about a 2 month learning curve with it.

r u kidding!!!! how can i possible edit all the frames!!! its will take years man for editing 50 frames!!! or is there some other technique to do that in photoshop.
i have been using photoshop7 for some yrs now but never heard of that before.... thanx anyway. would b expecting a quick reply

there probably is ways of doing it with editing software, but I don't really know what it is you want to do. You just mentioned using certain tools from photoshop, which is why I mentioned you could edit still frames in film strip mode. describe what it is you want to do to your video.

With Premiere you can edit out background as long as it is "recognizable" as background. The technique is called "keying" and Premiere offers various types of keying.
The most well known is "blue screen" keying, in which you film an object in fornt of a blue background. Then the blue in the clip is replaced by another clip.
Another option is when there is a distinct difference in luminance bewteen the subject that you wnat to retain and the background.
Third option is if your background is static. You can then get an image of the background without the subject that you want to retain and then use "difference matte" in Premiere.
Some of the techniques require some learning and you may already be intimidated a little by this answer, but if you're interested I can help you at DigitalVideoClub.com.
If non of the above situations applies to your situation, then you will have to go to a very advanced tool which require extensive learning and training. An example of such a tool is Mokey: http://www.mokey.com

Editing software is only part of it when you want to create different or edit backgrounds in existing video. Look for software that has rotoscoping, mattes or blue screen capabilities. Also consider After Effects to WORK WITH video from the editing software's timeline.
Premiere is good

yes I mentioned AE, its a fabulous program, but for beginners give yourself about a month's learning curve...its a pretty tough program
