Super Mario RPG not working on SNES-Station?

Hey guys, I have the latest version of Snes Station, and for the life of me I cant get Super Mario RPG to work. I can only get as far as the first battle, before the screen just stays black after it loads the battle screen. So, basically when I touch the patrolling Koopa and the screen splits in half to begin the fight, it just stays black. I can still play the game, becuase I hear the sound effects, and if I just keep pressing 0 I will eventually win the battle.
I've tried fooling around with the settings, but nothing seems to help. So, is this game even playable on Snes Station? Before the game goes black, it plays near perfect without the sound on, but then, well...
So, any help? Maybe it was a bad rom that I got. I also burned the cd at 4x, if that helps. Thanks guys!

Sounds like either the emulator has a hard time reading a part on the game and may not support it fully or you just need to get a different rom of that game.

Ya, I had the same problem and never got it to work. The rom does work on the PC with Snes9X and since snes station is based on Snes9X you'ld think it'd work on snes station. I think the problem has to do with the size of the rom, as there are a few other roms that are unplayable with snes station (I forget which ones) and they all seem to be the larger ones.

maybe you just got a bad rom set.
i have had no problems playing Super Mario RPG in either Snex9x or SNES Station.

Thank you again Gozilla. So, with this different rom I should be able to play Mario RPG on Snes-Station ok? I have the newest version 0.2.3. and plan to put at least 50 roms on it. Any other recemendations? Thanks again!

that should be about it.
when u make the SNES-Station CD, unzip the rom from the zip file first. that might help.
and also note, the larger games take a little longer to load.

Well, sadly the rom didnt work. Well, it worked perfectly up to the first battle with a Koopa Trooper. When the screen splits in two reading for the fight, the screen just stays black, again :( I put enough roms on it, and I burned it at 4x with Nero burning rom. I fooled around with the settings, such as no sound, mono, 12hz, or even sound on, stereo, and 48hz, but still nothing.
Any other tips? Why did you do to get it to work properly on your snes station? Maybe its the version I'm using? Do you still have your disc? Was it 0.2.3, or 0.2.2, or maybe even the first beta edition? Thanks again!

i don't remeber. it was done a while ago, since then lost the CD (let a friend borrow it never saw it again).
i don't remeber what version of snes-station it was. it was one of the earlier versions, i remeber that much.
as for the rom. i don't know exactly which one it was. i got in a huge rom pack i downloaded of a torrent site (no longer exists) i do remeber that the MarioRPG rom was the European version, (maybe that makes a difference??).
That's all i can remeber. sorry if its not much.
