Hope this is the correct forum to post this. I need advice on moving from VHS to VCD/DVD. I use Nero v. 6.0.12, Athelon64/2.4g, Plextor 712, XP with an ATI All-in Wonder Pro for capture. It copies from tape to VCD OK, but the (non commercial)tape I want to copy seems to overdrive (for want of a better word)the copy procedure. In several places on the tape, the copy seems to bloom the white level and almost wipes out the picture. Is there any way to add an automatic or adjustable gain, perhaps on the analog signal to prevent this, or am I looking in the wrong direction for a cure? Any help appreciated. Thanks. RAG

This is caused by Macrovision which is part of the analog signal. Only certain hardware capture cards can possibly remove this. Please read up on macrovision in some of the previous threads. Here are a couple:

Hope it helps.
