hi all

well i'v egot the following annoyance:

when bruning a data-dvd with nero and late rinserting the disc into any drive and trying tocopy+paste the files onto the harddisk, there mostly pops up a n "corrupt data" box or it doesn't copy at all....

i've tried several dvd brands, no difference. is there a special i have to enable in nero or does somebody has any other clue?

thx

ups i've just realized that i've posted this into the wrong forum :(
could admin please move it to the right one? i feel stupid....

Insert a blank dvd+/-r, open Nero(no multisession) and chose dvd>DVD-ROM Iso>New. Copy and paste the data you wan't to write and off you go....

well shoey if i do so and try burning a bigger file, say 3 gigs big, i click on burn and a message shows up. it says that i have to chose an other file format in order to start the burning process.
i then tried the *.udf format, but with that one, the problem of "corrupt data" always occurs :(

i have now also tried burning an .iso file of a pc game onto dvd. the burning process was ok, however when inserting the cd, it takes hell of a time until the install screen pops up and when installing, there always occurs that error again...

When you copy& paste, is the data you wan't to write in folders? If not make folders and try again. The Iso you backed up, is there some type of dvd protection on it? Use A-Ray Scanner and scan the backup you made to determine if there is any dvd protection on it.

Hi there lumbjack,

What speed did you burn those DVD-Data ?

What media do you use ?

Media quality and burning speed makes all the difference in the world.

Specially for DVD Video, most of us suggest burning at 2x or 4x MAX unless you have lots of free ram, and use Taiyo Yuden, the best media on the market !

My 2 cents...

hmm i've just now realised that there's a note on my emtec dvd+rs:

caution:
this disc is cmpliant with the new standards for 1x - 4x speed dvd+r recording.attempting to use this disc with 2,4x speed dvd+r/rw drives that do not support 4x recording speed may result in a writing error, failures..........to use this media you need the newest firmware for your drive. etc

i have a :
lite-on dvdrw ldw 451s (at least Nero says so)

do you think i have to update my firware? i've this to often cause severe problems....

No. You can find Taiyo Yuden media here in the USA (FujiFilm or Sony) and it must say made in Japan.

Ive had trouble with burning the dvd data discs with Nero but ive also had the same trouble with other burning programs. the problem is actually (in my case) with the dvd writer. expensive new dvd writers dont seem to give you the same problem (unlike mine which is old and cheap)
