if you have an mpg file you should be able to burn it directly to VCD with a program like Nero. unless its in MPEG2 format, then u can burn it to SVCD

How did you manage to make that stuff? Didn't you try to use the FAQ?

By the way, VCD MPEG's sound cannot be MPEG 1 layer-3 [MP3] 100Hz, but must be MPEG 1 layer-2 [MP2] 224 kbps 44.1 kHz. Only AVIs use MPEG 1 layer-3 sound [MP3] , at around 112-128 kbps (and since MP3 is a better compression that MP2, good sound quality is reached at a lesser bitrate).
Therefore, it's not strange you don't hear anything.
Commonly used encoders automatically select MPEG 1 layer-2 [MP2] 224 kbps 44.1 kHz as sound when you try to make a VCD MPG.

If you want to try to keep the file without re-encoding the video from zero you must:

1) extract the sound from your MPG with VirtualDubMod. Do Stream__Stream List__Save WAV. If VirtualDubMod can uncompress the sound that was inserted in that movie (no guarantee, though), you'll have a WAV 10.1 MB x (length, in minutes, of the movie) large
2) open HeadACh3. Load that file and select, as Destination Format, MP2. Just to be sure, check the box 'resample to 44.1 kHz'.
3) If you did it well, you can make a correct movie, by multiplexing the video of your 'strange' MPG with the MP2 sound you just made (fior VCD movies, the freeware version of TMPGenc 2.5: File___MPEG Tools can be used. To be sure to write the correct header, choose, as Type: MPEG-1 Video-CD when you multiplex).
4) if the programs don't scream in agony when you try to save audio --> WAV, create the MP2 making WAV --> MP2 and multiplex it to the video (video: MPG audio: MP2), the new MPG will be fully working and you can author a working VCD with VCDGear, Nero, VCDEasy....
