Stick with what you know and works for you.

But if your looking for good media at walmart then look for Verbatim.

03) Maxell DVD+R (Made In Japan)
04) Sony DVD+R (Made In Japan)
05) TDK DVD+R (Made In Japan)

I have been using philips magnavox dvd+r and have been burning for one of the first model ps2 released, some of the newer models and i also have a slim ps2 and they work for all of them for me. There is a tool that comes with Nero that allows you to check the quality of a cd or dvd so that would be your best option in comparing media quality. I should start using it to compare different brand media myself just to see which is actually the best.

I was able to use Fujifilm DVD-R to make backups from iso images and they were able to work using Alcohol 120%. Now they don't work anymore. Is there a software(in addition to Alcohol 120%) that is available to use to make a success copy of a PS2 game?

if your backups worked before but dont now, then you should clean your ps2 lens.that is the most likely problem.

and to stick with the theme of the thread, the best media is determined by your burner(what works well with it) not your ps2.some people say old ps2(v1-v4) wont play +r disc and some say -r wont play on new slims, but there have been people who refute both these facts.there hasnt been one brand of discs that somebody hasnt got to work for them.make sure your ps2 is well maintained and your burner as well and you shouldnt have too much problems using all kinds of media.if you have a burner that only works with a few type of media then either you have a lousy burner or your ps2 aint working right.

i have a sony burner and sony dvdrs work best for me(it only makes sense).other discs work good also(tdk, verbs, and maxell) but there is a slight degree of quality that is noticeable.

it is funny how people never search the post, how many times is someone going to ask what media to use only to find that they will get 6 answers, all of which are different. There are sooooooooo many post on here you could have read about media.
I would answer with TDK,Philips,Verbatim,Ritec
Maxcell is fine for movies but i never use them for games
And Memorex are pure crap.

As far as your burner have you tried downloading updated firmware to see if that fixes the problem. Or even uninstalling it and then re-installing that drive? I don't mean taking the drive out, just uninstall and re-install the software and drivers.Just some suggestions.

Try checking the IDE cable that goes from the DVD drive to the Mobo. Make sure it is in the second slot firmly if you have an ATA IDE hard drive, but if you have a SATA one, then make sure it goes in the first slot firmly.

I have an NEC3250A burner. What is the best media for that?
