I've wasted almost half of my 100 pack of my DVD-R...it's seems as if my DVD Burner just died out...

Could you check out my log...and it seems that DMA isn't enabled...I've tried everything possible...even a reformat on my drives...

You a VERY low in memory availability
Quote:
Physical memory : 255MB (261620kB)
Free physical memory: 27MB (28020kB)
Memory in use : 89 %
You could do with increasing the amount of memory installed - maybe upto 512Mb if possible.

CdRomPeripheral : HP DVD Writer 630c atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: Off
Do you use your writer to read dvd's aswell?
If so, usually Windows will set this to PIO Mode after 6 crc errors whilst reading.

The DMA appears to be off and maybe the cause of you issues.

Right click my computer
Click Properties
Click Hardware
Click Device Manager
Click IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
Click on Secondary controller
Click on Advanced Tab
Check to see if your device is set to use DMA if available

You should notice here that the current transfer mode is PIO Mode.
If it is, uninstall the secondary controller.
Reboot, let Windows reinstall it, then go back in and check to see if it is now in a DMA level.

Then retry a burn......................

Hope this helps...................

...............PIO is no go, DMA all the way...............
Beware of the Pixies - they move in over night and turn your life upside down
