Thanks for all your help.
Much apreciated.
Are you on true cable, or do you have MMDS,(Aerial on the roof).

True cable is a direct feed into the house.

If there is an aerial/dish on the top of the house with cable running from it to the TV, it is MMDS and will not work on the Replay Lite.
I don't have MMDS. It's True Cable (a cable direct into the house), i don't have a box from the cable provider.

Digital is available from the provider but we haven't gone for it.
Moving house in next week so I wanted to know my options before I signed up with a particular provider.

Maybe try flash the box again with 9.10 and do another scan or try switch it for another box.

Gman I found the Ntell frequencies for Dub and Galway in your sig, are they the same for Ch***s now that they have merged or am I missing the C****s list somewhere?!
Cheers
Thanks Damoirl,

I'll probably have to buy another box, I think I have a buyer for the one that won't work for me.

Good to know that it could be the box tho. :)

Do you know if I go for the Ch**us digital option (recently available in Sligo) will I still be able to use the box?

Cheers

if your moving house next week your OP was a bit academic, better to wait until your in the new place,..have you checked out if it will have cable or MMDS ?

Heya Lenny123,

The cable provider options are
- UPC Analogue (previously Ch**us) {?23.50 per month for bout 18 channels}
- UPC Digital {?26 per month for bout 100 channels}
Digital seems the most value for money option!
That's why I asked if the box can be used with Digital (to pick up additional channels..)

Also there's
S*Y & S*Y Digital,
but didn't want to go with the S*Y option cos I heard the box doesn't work with this.

Not too sure about the MMDS options available.
I think S*Y is through a satellite dish.

right,..your best option is the basic digital MMDS service, they come out & install all the nessesary equipment, antenna, indoor power invertor & their own digibox which you promptly swap with your digibox, Eurovox TX, THE BOX T, Dreambox 500T,...your Reply lite will not work with any of the services you mention.

Thanks a million Lenny123,

Just called UPC to verify Sligo options. He said that we are on MMDS..
He told me that we are and even with the Digital option, all the channels may not be available due to the location, there's mountains and hills around me!!! - very beautiful though ;)
He said that it is due to the bad signal in the area.

Will THE BOX or the Eurovox have the same issue with picking up these channels??

Then when you go into autoscan make sure your symbol rate is 6887 should pick up about 130 channels.

If I remember correctly you were using a reply lite on a cable setup & at this stage I feel there was some other issue affecting reception, some areas of the country are cabled but they are fed from a communal mast/antenna somewhere in the locality which may or may not have gone digital as yet so you might have been flogging a dead horse to begin with...who knows !!! I setup a dvb-c box in a rural area (small housing estate) all the houses there were cabled but fed from a local mast, the owner could only get a signal when youpissy came out to one of a number of under ground junction boxes in the estate & connected him up there even then neither the ev max, reply or kryptview worked very well & only a small amount of channels came through even though the boxes found over 100 with scanning, the only box that worked 100% was THE BOX (dvb - c) can you check with a neighbor at the new place who has MMDS & see if they have signal issues ?

Hi again Lenny123,

I never actually got the Replay Lite to work, which was why I initially joined this forum.
I thought I was on cable until I enquired with youpissy [like the alias by the way ;)]
They informed me that Sligo is supplied through MMDS, which prompts me to get a different box as replay lite isn't compatible with MMDS.
I understand that the only options for Ch**us MMDS are The Box T or Eurovox TX.
Trying to figure out which to go for... i think I'll subscribe to the basic analogue MMDS package (?23.50 a month) and buy a box to get the rest of the channels!

Starview BoxT is the best to use easy to flash and set up the Euro Tx is slightly harder to flash and setup but it is really your own choice

for the extra ?3 I'd go for the digital option,..that way if your own digibox ever goes down you'll have their box to fall back on.

I never had any problems flashing the TX ! did the BOX T auto update during the key changes ? the TX did & did'nt need any new firmware either.

Ya, i thought the same myself, but then if I want multiroom (probably another 2 rooms) I can't split the cable with digital, can i?
I think this can only be done with analogue.

Do an Auto search,

Start Freq.......290

End Freq.........418

Symbol Rate.......6887

Constellation.....64QAM

search By Network....ON

Search.............when all channels are found...Select View.

Should take less than 15 Mins.

I have digital and have my N*L box in one room and my Replay Lite in the other room, with the cable split. Have no prob getting 130 or so channels, but I'm in Dublin and the reception here is quite good. If yours is already bad, splitting it might make it worse and you might lose some channels.
