Problems with Sony Recorded DVD

I am trying to DVDSHRINK a verbatim dvd that was recorded on by a Sony DVD Recorder.

Heres the problem, DVDShrink works on dvds that only have 1 recording on them perfectly; however, when i have a dvd with 2 recordings on it and i try to open the disk in dvd shrink, i get this error:

"DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue

Invalid DVD navigational structure."


i am running DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15.

any suggestions?


Ps. i appologize if this issue has already been adressed, but im a newbie here, so... cut me some slack please, thanks.

when i tried authoring the dvd... it only picked up the second video on the recorded dvd... any suggestions?

I'd say make a folder on your hard drive, somewhere that's easy to find. Then use DVD Decrypter in File mode and rip into that folder. If that works, there's a program called IFOEdit that can fix your dvd structure. In IFOEdit, click Open, then click your first VOB file and click create IFOs and MAKE SURE that the box is checked that says use same folder or something to that effect. Hopefully that fixes your problem.

thank you for your help, that didnt do the trick, but i did find a solution that i thought id share.

alright, first use dvddecoder and save it in a new folder. then use IFOEdit and rework the ifo files. Then use VOB blanker to make a new copy nad that should work in DVD Shrink where you can then edit the dvds....

lots of steps, but WORTH IT, since it would take me 4 hours to do it manually using a dv recorder.
