Tmpge won't output mpeg

Hi there, need a bit of help with Tmpge. Everytime I try to convert an avi file it outputs the file as a blank windows file and not as an mpeg/mpg, works using DVD but not as V-CD or SV-CD. This is really strange as it worked fine before, any help would be grately appreciated.
