Well everyone knows Lighscribe is a technology that uses a special dye on the top of the disc, so it can actually "burn" images on top of the disc, so do you think this technology worth it?? I heard it takes 30 minutes to burn the images, are the disc easy to find and cheap, what do you think about this technology, and if you have used it, post your experiences ;-)

Discs are expensive relative to normal DVDs, and you need a special DVD burner. I think only some Hewlett Packard DVD burners have the Lightscribe capability. Screw the fancy labels. My Sharpie does just fine. I watch the movie for 2 hours, so media quality is most important. When I begin staring at the DVD faces for that long, I'll think about it.
the silver printables are gorgeous when they are done on my epson r200 as are the ridata disks with the glossy mat on top. I thinkt his lightscribe is a nice idea but for 30 mins to burn a picture is a waste...you can buy replacement ink for r200 on ebay forl ike $25 for all 6 colours canadian. Thats not a bad deal for the amount of disks you can make.
I think they certainly have the right idea, now if only you could do color...then I would buy it. I LOVE my Epson R200 - but I think Lightscribe would be safer in terms of "smearing". I know you can use sealer spray but Lightscribe would be easier and probably better. So, if they come out with color, I'll buy one.
