Hello all, was wondering if there was a program that i could use to brighten video files ie; bin/cue, vob?. I have some old video files that are very dark and hard to see. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

You can do that with any decent video editing program. Take your pick.

most files I want to brighten are bin/cue and AVI. Is it a seperate procedure or do I do it while converting?

None of the software you mention is an editor.
For avi's, use VirtualDub, Levels filter.
For mpg's try Vegas, Pinnacle, Mainconcept EVE, etc.
You could use some of the filters in TMPGEnc plus/express, but it's going to slow down the encoding time drastically.

Speaking of slow downs. You should get a speed boost from using AVISynth over VirtualDub, works for MPEG1/2 to.

For MPEG2 you can change the brightness without re-encoding though using MPEG2Requant.
