I was thinking maybe the admin of the forum could keep this thread to the top. This has been an issue with some new blockbuster releases, were the discs have contained css to protect the disc from copyright. For example the new movie 'Closer' is so far unrippable for many people. This thread will give people the chance to check and look for upcoming releases to see if they contain this protection and inform people of the movie so that the person is not going mental & thinking *its my computer*.

Good idea? anyways, keep us updated if this problem occurs?

A thread like this was started once and it kind of died. There was much debate about what was "new copy protection methods" and what was computer error. There are just entirely too many variables to consider.... Bad pressings from the factory, computer setups, user, software used, and so on....

And just to inform you, almost all movies have CSS copy protection. The issues with newer releases deal mostly with errors intentionally put in the video to throw the ripping software for a loop, but still be playable in a dvd player.
