Faulty Flip Top?

I recently bought a new flip top for my ps2. After I installed it I noticed some problems, 1) the flip top lid pops up a little in the back, its not completely flat. 2) when you put a game into the ps2 it will spin and get stuck and pop up from the tray, first I thought it was not balanced and then I noticed it is related to the flip top lid not being flat. I took it in and was told that I may have a faulty flip top. All of you with flip tops, Is the flip top lid supposed to be flat in the back or is it supposed to pop up slightly? Also, has anyone installed a flip top before and the games wont spin correctly? I used the CORRECT white disk from the ps2.

I got mine about a month ago, and when I tried to installed it, the back was popping up a little too. I tried to redo it but the same thing appeared. I was mad so I just leave it like that (unscrew on the back) and it still work perfectly except that the eject & reset button doesn't respond sometime. I think I closed the flip top with the wire stuck in the middle, but I was too lazy and I never had a chance to fixed it.
Let's get back on topic: I don't think your is faulty,you might misplaced the flip-top. Try putting it on again. See if anything is in the way between the F-T and the base. F-T is made poorly so many just stuck out not like the original perfectly fit on the base. Try open the F-T when the disc is in (PS2 on) and see where the problem is. You will be able to see where it get stuck and fixed it. I think most of the F-T is made inaccurate so many will pop up slightly.
