LoL :^)
I guess whoever made the AVI had a 50/50 chance to get it right - and blew it!
Or do you simply have your L&R patchcord channels switched?
Wait a minute - it's almost impossible to switch (reverse) the L&R channels when making the XviD, unless buddy converted AC3 audio to stereo MP3 with 'reverse channels' selected :^(
Easiest solution is therefore playback correction...
We could possibly re-reverse the channels using BeSweet or something, but big job (might be easier to just buy the DVD).
Or get your hands on the DVD and rip a proper audio stream from it, not difficult, and re-mux AVI using NanDub.

i saved the wav of the AVI using vdubmod, and reversed the stereo in goldwave and also converted it to mp3 192kbps 48khz, now all i need to do is re-join the new mp3 with the AVI i think, can this be done with vdub?

Possibly, if CBR MP3 - or

re-mux AVI using NanDub
which works with all audio formats, so you don't need to think about it...

Use VLC for playback. It has "Reverse Stereo" function in Audio menu. What I'm doing anyway. Or can "flip" hardware literally or something :P
