ah, never mind you meant to say "cost"
you can obtain all the files and stuff on the net...you may have to buy a few things, like a action replay and a crossover cable...just depends on what you already have or not...if you can just buy a solderless modchip, much better than a softmod.

if you softmod the xbox you will not be able to use xboxlive...a chip can be turned off, so you can use xboxlive.

you can't use xboxlive with a hacked bios, therefore it is impossible to use xboxlive with any sort of mod, they will ban your xbox....the mod must be turned off to access xboxlive...if you don't believe me mod your xbox and sign on to live with a hacked bios, then come back here and tell me what happened...you will get BANNED
now there is free tunneling software like xlink kai that you can play games online with your chip turned on...this software is different from xboxlive, it is basically system link through your pc.

you ain't gonna be playing hacked stuff on xboxlive...i would assume xboxconnect or xlink kai might allow that stuff...but you will need a modded xbox to hack stuff.

but there are peole on halo2 that use crap from the Action Replay and they call it soft mod. DOu play halo2 online
