I'm not sure what program you're using but all my dvds are NTSC and DVD Decrypter 3.5.4.0 has never failed.

try DVD Decrypter as ppower says. What program are you using now?? When you say the sound is messed up, is that when you watch the files from your hard drive on your pc, or after you burn it and try to watch it on a dvd player? You're not multitasking are you??

well squizzle, to tell you the truth I'm using a program called (AoA DVD Ripper) with the xvid codec (sometimes Divx) when I rip my NTSC DVDs. plus, i use mp3 as my sound output, but is the AC3 any good ? all the time when I watch a movie I watch it from the PC's hard drive directly. but tell me, is there any difference when I watch it on the PC or when I burn it on a CD ? and what do you mean by multitask ?

Why not use DVD Decrypter, it's free and words on all dvds up to date. It rips all audio so can select any audio stream. Multitasking is doing or using multiple programs at the same time. Depending on computer specs multitasking can cause errors ripping or burning a dvd.

yeah, I'd bet if you used Decrypter to rip you wouldn't have that problem anymore. I've used it on hundreds of movies without any problems at all.

mob_z try to rip with Decrypter first then use Shrink. Data error (cyclic redundancy check) is usually a dirty or just unreadable part of the disc. It may look ok but I would still give it a good cleaning. You can also get this error with a poorly pressed disc.

Ppower is right, Decrypter also has some tweaks to help it read tough to read discs. Check ScubaPete's guide (link is in my sig) for ways to tweak Decrypter.
