After much irrittion with this problem I finally got round to tracking it down.

Common knowlege had it that mp3 audio did not work and AC3 did. Having some AC3 audio that did not work and some mp3 that did I got round to figuring it out.

Its a constant bitrate issue. The Yamada players will not fastforward or rewind unless the audio tracks were encoded using constant bit rate (I beleive this is the default for AC3 however mp3 is usually encoded ABR)

So there you go...

If you were confused as I was that problem is now solved

(yes I know you can flash the thing but after killing one player I really dont want to waste time killing another one)
