OK Shoey, i got a couple easy questions for u.
This is the model number of my burner:
- Lite-On 52X32X52X16 Combo Drive, Model SOHC-5232K
1) Is my burner capable of backing up Doom3?
The backup copy i made of Doom3 only works on my Combo drive. It doesnt work on my Lite-On LTN CD-rom, Which means it's definately not a perfect copy :).
About using CloneCD to read then burn with Alcohol.
2) is that the best way to backup Doom3? if not what is the best way?
I will try uninstalling Alcohol today and see if the backup cd still works on my combo drive.

I don't know until you give it a go m8. Have you tried Blindwrite 4.57 by enablin "enhance weak sectors" and enable autoplay by reading and writing at 4x?

How can a backup of Doom 3 work in a burner when the Safedisc 3.20.022 detects "emulation" software and this is the only way a backup can be played in a burner.? (Hide cd-r, ignore media type) My backup won't launch in my Litey LDW-411S :(

I had to uninstall CloneCD to play the game. Just disabling virtual drive and Hide Media Type didnt work. However the backup cd still worked, but after uninstalling Alcohol120 the backup didnt work anymore.
Doom3 didnt load when i had a virtual drive enabled in Alcohol120. After i disabled all virtual drives in Alcohol120 it loaded fine. i didnt have to uninstall and i didnt have to disable the emulations. At all times , the backup cd only worked from my combo drive. It doesnt work when i put it in my lite-on LTN-527T
i just found a no-cd patch for doom3 tho, so i am just gonna use that from now on. it works very nice.
Shoey, about burning with blindwrite can you tell me the Reading and Writing settings. Sorry i am not very good w/ blindwrite.
Thanks!!

I've been reading all the formus on how to make a perfect backup, and I just ordered (and I'm still waiting) for my lite-on 52x32x52x (2 sheeper right?) to come in. I was just wondering if there were any media/cd type recommendations for making backups. I currently just have some Ritek 800mb discs, which i'm sure I'll at least try first....

Oddly enough I have an LG GCE8240B cd-rw and it's blue.
I picked it up cheap some time ago because it only burns at 24X (good enough for me) and nobody was buying them because nobody had blue computers.
It's an excellent burner, I just backed up my wife's copy of 'CSI Dark Motives' which has safedisc 3.20.022 protection on it, which I believe is the same as Doom 3.
I then used the copies (3 of them) to install the game and it works perfectly.
Although everywhere I check it says it isn't a 2-sheep burner.
According to the Alcohol website my pioneer 107 is a 2-sheeper which sounds odd to me.

I've got 2 Lite-On drives - a 52327S, and a 52246S (external under the Cendyne brand). I have Alcohol 120 latest version. I've tried both (but with Staples media) and I can't get a good copy. Both these drives used to be '2 sheep' drives and would copy anything. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Steve

Was there not enough pointers in this thread? What have you tied that hasn't worked?

I don't see it on any of the lists so you may want to consider the Lite-On 52327S which is a definite 2-sheep burner :)
