To hbkhhh69:
Hey. I don't know if you got it working now or not but I made a backup of GTA SA a couple days ago. I used DVD Decrypter to make and then burn and ISO. I have the Liteon SOHW-1633s dvd writer (i think that's the model). I wrote it at 4x using some no name media and it worked well (so far). I am using a v7 PS2 with slide card and swap magic boot disk v3.3
When using this swap disk it gives me two options...one to boot up normally and one for a special boot. I had to use the special boot option. I read somewhere that GTA SA needed to be patched before burning. Maybe this special boot on the swap magic 3 disk took care of tht problem.
ALso, the type of media seems to make a difference. I tried Killzone using the same noname media as my GTA backup and killzone would skip during the cinematics. I tried another backup and did everything the same as GTA, but I used a TDK dvd-r and even at 4x it worked nicely.
If you're still having problems look up info on patching GTA. That should help.

i've been using Legacy 8x DVD-R's for all my backups, i have also been burning them at 8x, i think they are like 17.99 a 50-pk from some sites, but i haven't had a single coaster out of any of them and they all play great on my v4 ps2 using the flip top swap method.

Alright thanks so I will try better media, I ordered Ritek G04's so hopefully that will work. The only other choice I have after that is patching it. But I should be fine with these discs :)

I just burnt a copy on Ritek G04's and the only problem now is that some of the textures don't load. Like the garage door, I had to pause it and it loads the map and I unpause then its fine.

superstui, don't get so excited about it being only 4 GBs, it's only a single layer dvd so it can't be any larger.
