Quote:There was one way to be sure. Them SOB's.. Well anyway those disks are still working good for me, but I will probably not be trying them again. :-)
The market for optical media is a real mess. But as long as there's a demand for dirt-cheap media I suspect someone will be happy to fill it.
Quote:I started out using comp USA (cmc code) before I knew any better. Then went to Verbatim purchased st Sam's Club because the price was right and a quality company, right? Wrong. Data Life dvd-r was also cmc media code. Alot of skipping etc. Found out I should of been getting data life PLUS.
Just wondering, what speed was the Datalife discs that stung you? As far as I can tell Verbatim from 4x onwards seems to have gone to DatalifePlus only, though I haven't been able to find anything definitive on it.
Quote:Memorex has had a lot of negative Feedback regarding their DVD MEDIA. Incidentally, the majority of their DVD-R media is CMC manufactured. and of POOR QUALITY.
So this means that everyone who has used Memorex media can say that Memorex sucks and they'd be correct, right? Once again...WRONG! Memorex also has DVD+R media and their DVD+R media happens to be produced by RICOH..one of the world leaders in DVD+R media and one of the companies at least at this point in time who people can rely on for high quality media. The point though is that just as poorly as the Memorex CMC DVD-R disks are...the Memorex DVD+R disks are some of the best out there.
This is not entirely true. Although some memorex dvd+r media is made by Ricohjpn and tend to be of fairly good quality, some are also made by cmc and are (like the cmc produced dvd-r) target practice clay pigion stand ins. The last batch of memorex dvd+r media I bought was made by CMC and had a less than 50% success rate. I ended up tossing most of them. Never again.
