u know how u said to change it to like 5V3 NO PN or something like that, so that i can play Ratchet and Clank, how do i change that???

Ok, when you successfully load up dvdloader press X. It should take you to the sub-menu and give you a list of possible selections. Choose the 5V3 No PN. Then press eject and put in SM dvd version. Press X again. The prompt for EA Method will appear. Swap with burned game and then press X. That should make it work.

i didn't have to pick anything to get r&c to work. just used dvdloader with the default option.

well, i tried it and i still cant figure it out! it has like Menu 1-10, i think and when i press one before i insert the disc, it either goes blank and says insert actual playstation or playstation 2 format disc. but when i put in the disk, it does the same thing, so, where do i get this dvd loader program, i guess ill use one of my dvd+r's as long as i can play r+c uya!

im saying to hell with the cdloader thing, ill just get the dvdloader thing, it seems to work better. so where can i get that and how then, after i get it, do i use it?

put the swap magic dvd in
put the dvd loader dvd in through the fliptop or slide tool
hit x
hit eject and load swap magic dvd again
you will see a "load disc by ea method" prompt
put in your backup and hit x
that's what works here
of course you can use swap cd and cd loader also for the first two swaps.

I gave you specific instructions on how to boot up your arsenal on the first page of this thread. I suggest selecting the 5V3 NO PN over just booting the dvdloader because different games bootup differently. I remember Mafia booted with V3 NO PN while other people that had Mafia didn't even have to use dvdloader.

okay, well, cdloader was working fine except i dont know how in the hell to switch to V5 NO PN or whatever. here's what i did, then you can tell me whats wrong or what not...(you might want to do this how i did it on your ps2, it might be easier to understand!)
first, i downloaded cdloader off of the site that someone gave me, that had the list of games u need to use the program for, and to the right, it had cdloader in blue underlined and something like V7 ALL or something also blue underlined, i downloaded the cdloader one, not the V7 All or something one. i then burned the .bin file to a CD-R using DVD Decryptor. it said burn was successfull. i then loaded cd swap disk v3.0. after it had gotten to the screen with the two different options, Load Program and Video: Normal, i used my slide card on my V7 PS2 and pulled out the tray. i replaced it with the CD-R containing the .bin file program cdloader. I got a screen that said in a blue box at the top some words, with like star things (or if you've ever seen Dragon Ball Z, they look kinda like dragon balls, but anyway). below that there was like a box that said like insert cd or something and told me to push X. i pressed a few different buttons, (well, all of them) and the 0 button changed the letters that told me to insert cd and then told me to push X turned to like a spanish language of something. i pressed 0 again and it changed it back to english. (heres where i tried many different things!) i first tried to eject the tray and put in the dvd swap disk, but that didn't work. then i did all of the above again till i got to this point and tried pressing X on the cdloader screen whitout changing to the dvd swap disk. It took me to a different screen where it had like 9 different levels. the top said MENU 1. then it went on down the list, each time lowering a level, to nine, i believe. i then tried to swap it with the dvd swap disk and then i pressed MENU 5. the screen went black and nothing happened. so, i redid everything until i got to the cd loader screen then i pressed X to get to the MENU screen i then, whitout trying to insert the dvd swap disk, i pressed MENU 5. the screen went black and donothing happened.
so, what am i doing wrong??? can anyone thell me??

method 1:
swap magic cd
slide card to load cdloader disc
eject and put in swap magic dvd hit x
slide card to load copied dvd
method 2:
burn dvdloader
swap magic dvd
slide card to loaddvdloader
eject & load swap magic dvd again
slide card to load copy of dvd
the trick always (for me anyways) was to make sure you are ejecting at the right time. i used the dvdloader and it is much easier. all of the games worked fine with the default setting, I didn't have to pick anything. Also you didn't have to mess with the swap CD.
instructions at swap magic fix site seem to be pretty acurate & work for me. I did have to make another cdloader v7 all disc to get it to work though. Or of course use dvdloader. Keep trying!

Its better just to get dvdloader. Download it off the link a posted above and follow the intructions i gave you specifically for that game which are on the first page. Remember when downloading dvdloader to get the v7All version since your ps2 is a version 7. Believe me man just get dvdloader and everything will work out fine.

alright, ive downloaded dvdloaderV7all, how do i burn it to a dvd? i tried burning it using dvd decryptor, but when i went to select the file, it said "Invalid of unsupported image file format" what can i burn it with. it is a .rar file and i have Nero 6 (TRIAL VERSION).

Yes you burn it to a dvd but first you need to extract the image with winrar. Then follow the directions i gave you earlier.

thankz bboy_flex and Atom_224 for all your help. i did everything as said and i got it to load. im playing it right now, although it skips a little every now and then on the cut seens with the talking, but i probably just need to clean it! thankz again guys!

No problem, glad it works. The reason its skipping is probably because its burned on cheap media.

yep, here memorex & tdk don't skip. also burn at the slowest speed for your burner. My cheap media works on some ps2 and not on others. Trial and error will identify the media that works best for your ps2.

well this so called cheap media isn't very cheap. sure, i got them on sale but that was because it was like the day after thanksgiving sale, and thats a major sale day for any store! but ill try out different stuff. but like i said, i think its just needs cleaning...

When i say cheap i dont mean the price is cheap but the quality. You burned with teon discs rite, well i have read on this forum on many occasions that the games either freeze or dont play. I am just saying you can try using some of higher quality like TDK or Verbatim.

I can't burn dvd loader on to a dvd. I extracted the image, and burned the .iso, but Nero kept saying it needs to burn it to a CD and not a DVD.
Um...any fix for this?
And yes, before you ask, I did select the dvd option in the tab.
