Your Scr*w*d!! First off, you should never have "copied and pasted" the contents of the DVD to your harddrive. It just doesn't work that way. Second, it obvious that you either borrowed the game from a friend or rented it, then copied it. So, either borrow it again, or spend another $6 to rent it and copy it the Right way. If not you're going to waste a lot of DVD's trying to make it burn a "bad" copy. Stop wasting your time trying to figure out some "secret", "backdoor" way to make this work, because your not going to find it.

Advice: Search and Read the tutorials on how to backup your PS2 Games before you make another attempt.

If you already have an iso file on the comp (lets not ask how you got it =D ) I would definitely suggest using DVD Decrypter to burn the iso on the LOWEST speed. It'll say that it is 1x but on mine I can get it to go at like 0.7 or so =P. It takes a looong time but it's worth it I think for a free game.

gavin2005: How can you use Nero's DVD to DVD if the source DVD is copy protected? Found this out by using the "simulation" step in Nero.

Nero tells you that the DVD is copyrighted and then copies it any way. So in another words Nero just doesn't give a shit about copyright laws and just breaks straight through the protection!

Sorry i'm really pissed off !!!!!!!!!
Big deal it's only 2 DVDs! I get 100 for $20. I think that makes each dvd only 25 cents! =P I know if I lose 2 quarters I don't go insane!

Tried using Nero to copy DVD to DVD and it got to 97% on the burn and both drives (dvd-rom & dvd burner) just stopped. Same thing happened when I used DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter. I'm using quality media, so I don't know why it always stops at 97%. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Trying to copy PS2 game called "ATV Offroad Fury 2". This dvd came with my son's PS2. I tried copying it with DVD Decrypter and also tried burning dvd to dvd with Nero. Wanted to figure out how to copy the dvd before wasting a lot of dvd's, so I tried to copy the game that came with his PS2.

My son bought a copy of GameCopyXpress(?) from 3-2-1 software. We copied the game, but it wouldn't play in his PS2. This was about 3 weeks ago and we did not know about having to "mod the chip" at that time. We both have DVDXCopy Express and have burned several DVD's (movies) and they work fine. I ran across this forum about a week ago and I have read quite a few of the threads. I'm just getting a little frustrated that I can't seem to be able to copy/burn the game. It takes about 1 1/2 hours and the at about 98% of the burn, it craps out.

Well the problem is your PS2 doesn't have any type of mod. You need a flip top, slide card, mod chip, or you can do the HD hack.

Maybe I'm not doing a very good job of explaining this but I am not trying to "play" the dvd - yet, I am trying to "copy" it. I understand that the system will need to be modded to play, but I thought I could at least copy the game.

for a start, burning a ps2 game using "on the fly" is risky,if it keep crashing out at 97%-98% it may be the original may be damaged, also how big is the game???some ps2 games are dual layer which means it wont fit on a 4.7 gb dvd, check how big the game is,remember, you dont actually get "4.7 gb" of space on a dvd.try using dvd-r,burn at x2 speed.try using Alcohol 120,create image using image wizard, then burn using image burning.DONT USE COPY CD...bol.

I just bought a new game and copied it in my HD as an ISO and burned it with Nero 6 but my ps2 does not recognize the disk. It keep saying insert ps2 formatted file. What did I do wrong? I copied the files as data by the way. Thank you.

Ok. Thanks, i will try it again copying the game as an image. By the way, I haven't tried any modifications on my ps2. Its SCPH 70000 series and its NTSC J. Anything else I should do after copying the game as an image and burn with Nero?

i read something about the no mod chip, flip top shell and swap magic but still confused about these. Can you suggest anything about these items? Mine is SCPH 7000 series. I haven't done any modifications but I am willing to invest on these. I need to play imported DVD bec am staying in Japan and all the games are in Japanese including the instructions. My console only accept NTSC J. Please help.
