N_e_o, you can create an ISO with the decrypter. what i didn't know is that dvdshrink can analyze an ISO. i'm going to try today to see what happens.

Yes this is correct I have learned. I had the same trouble with the DVD "The Forgotten" as did with "Resident Evil/Apocalypse". The answer is just that simple. Use "DVD Decrypter to copy to an ISO file. Then use DVD Shrink to analize, Encode and finally write it to DVD. It worked great! Still had trouble with fixing VOB's to encode for DIVX with DR DIVX (AVI files). I'm sure DIVX guys will address this in the next update.

i'm going to rent today Residnt Evil once more. One question, when i rip it with Dvddecrypter, is it correct that the program "inserts dummy sectors" in the ones mentioned in the PLS file? just want to know to be sure.

hey yall! is there a program ,such as DVD43, that runs in the background that can circumnavigate the RE2 encryption? I read the previous post about how to burn it but i'm hoping for something simpler.

Both DvdDecrypter and DVDSHRINK can burn your DVD for you for Free. Spend some time and try to figure out the help file and program settings. I use Nero though for a number of reasons.
A friend of mine used the new Anydvd turned on and DVDSHRINK and that backed up the her NTSC RE 2.

You can use a) DVD Decrypter in file mode (note DO Not use it in ISO mode because shrink,Clone dvd ,etc.
do not support ISO) and use dvs shrink or Nero or Clone Dvd or whatever.b)Anydvd also works also.
Note you must use the latest version as this copy protection just came out in December (Resident evil: Apocolypse was the first to use this copyprotection).

Steps that I did.
First:
be sure to have DvdDecrypter 3.5.2.0
be sure to have DvdShrink 3.2.0.15
Second:
rip the DVD with DvdDecypter using Mode-->ISO-->Read
let it download it to your harddrive
Third:
analyze with DVDShrink using File-->Open Disc Image
choose the *.ISO file
Fourth:
let it analyze and you're home free

Also did Forgotten and Little Black Book with this combo
The Grudge should be able to be done with it too
They already have a fix for CloneDVD to solve the Mastering Errors on this Title and it has been confirmed that it works
Enjoy

Platinum RF works very good with AnyDVD but not near as good as CloneDVD
AnyDVD and Elby's CloneDVD is an Awesome Combo
Everytime they come out with some kind of new Protection Slysoft always beats it
CloneDVD has been updated to 2.7.2.1 they just have not posted it on the site yet
I found it at the CloneDVD Forum over at CD Freaks
Glad I was able to help you out
Enjoy
:)

quustion on/off subject, i am still using AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2 in the trial grace period.Do they charge when they update ?I am probably going to buy thier package deal for all 3 of thier products but was curious if anybody had some hands on knowledge. There is only one movie i havent been able to back up and i am begining to think its the DVd itself(scratch or what not) "Postman", i got a "cycle redundancy error " multiple times . I havent seen that in a couple of years since i was using to CDRwin to burn diablo "spawn" CD's
