So glad you guys are set! Enjoy the flick!

Dontbugme - I've never gotten the infamous Out of Memory Error, but on another message board a slew of people had that problem.

All they said that fixed it was going to "run" typing in "msconfig" hitting the "start up" box and then selecting "disable all". I understood from that thread that XP is a RAM hog or something and this fixes the issue.

I hear that this restarts your puter is a cleaner fashion allowing more system memory or something to run Shrink.

I have absolutely no experience with this at all, im just quoting another thread to save you some time looking for a fix. I read the thread again tonight and people are thanking the guy that posted the above info in droves so it must work. If you try it and it doesnt work, you can always go back to msconfig and check the enable all button to get you back where you were.

Im sorry I dont have more knoweledge on that topic to help ya but thought I would pass this along to you. Hope it helps!

ok..i got things to sort of ripp while have anyDVD in the background. i beleive i got the same error as talia - dont remember, i'm at work.. but then once it was done i tried to shrink with dvdShrink and i received the same error as 'dontbugme'.

I downloaded the newest version of anydvd and it was running in the background - stopped at the exact same time yours did.

what did you do differently when you updated your anyDVD? was it running in the background when you were using dvdshrink?

any suggestions i'd appreciate it.

I got this error too. All the other movies people had problems with weren't a problem for me. I just used the new Decrypter and Shrink, Nero Express to burn. Now there's this movie. I used Decrypter to rip, now Shrink to compress. I get the memory error at 47%. It says that it's running at 404 kb/s (normal) but the buffer is at 1,658 MB, which is INSANE! I have it set for better error compensation and sharp, so usually my buffer gets to about 100 MB or so. I have a Dell Inspiron 600m w/ Intel Centrino 600 MHz, 512 MB RAM, 10 GB free hard drive space after ripping. I'd like to get the whole disc, but if I have to I'll settle for just the movie I guess. If anyone knows WHY this is happening I would love to hear what the reason is.

I'm a newbie at aqll this burning/decrypting thing, I have been having probs trying to burn my copy of The Forgotten. I tried DVD Decrypter, DVD Region &CSS, DVD43Free and AnyDVD, none work, it keeps telling me that my copy is protected and that I can't copy and burn it. I am using 1clickcopy 4.1 and have not had any probs till this movie.
I just tried Super DVD Copy and it says it is writing dvd 1 of 2 and when there is 6-7 secs left, an error message appears.
I also tried DVD Decryption with DVDClone, the decryption seems to go very well, but once I try to input the files into the trial version of DVDClone, it tells me that the blank DVD is not big enough, even though I am using the split option, there technically should be enough room on the DVD.
I am seriously getting annoyed with all the programs! :) Any help would be much appreciated

THX

OK. I tried DVD Shrink in Full Disc mode, Reauthor mode, AnyDVD with Shrink. Other people were saying that AnyDVD used with Shrink will get the movie, but I am still getting memory errors. I increased my pagefile size, but the highest it will go is 1536 MB. The buffer size gets up to 1658 MB and then it fails. When it fails it is at 47%, but I only have 326 MB in the folder I told Shrink to put the movie in. At 47% it should be around 2 GB. It seems like it tries to store the entire movie (just about) in memory instead of on the hard drive. WHY?! This is pissing me off.

oh by the way, I get VTS01 and 02 with all their BUP and IFO files, but VTS03 is as far as it gets without getting the IFO and BUP files. I thought it got the IFO file first, then gets the main files, then the BUP afterwards. if this is so, it's weird that there is no IFO file for VTS03

I finally got it to work (burn The Forgotten)
Here is how it worked for me:
I used DVD Decrypter, stored the movie to a special folder, then used DVD Shrink, took out some of the special features, reduced the quality for every thing I could, to increase quality of main movies (2). I then used Nero to burn the DVD. It now plays in my home player.
Hope this helps anyone. BTW I used all the latest versions of every program.

I also tried to reauthor just Title 1, which didn't need any compression. Still got the memory error. I tried to change the special features to a still image like Grampaw said. Still got the memory error. I wish I had a better computer so I could make my pagefile size bigger. I'd still like to know why the computer is storing this movie in memory instead of on the hard drive.

You guys said that Title 2 is the alternate ending?

Is there a way to watch this movie on my computer if I have an ISO image made with Decrypter?

Ok Newbies. I am going to explain as best as I can. The problem is that you have to many dvd programs running that actually probe the dvd. The word out is that some companies actually know about anydvd and what it does to bypass the macro and css crp. If you have anydvd on your pc or any other program that analyzes the dvd when inseted into the drive you need to temporarily uninstall them. The only programs you should have to bypass the new css is the latest vesion of decrypter and DVD Shrink. Try this and see if it works. These other programs are just conflicting with the process.

what are your settings on decrypter and what programs do you have installed. When I bought forgotten and backed it up I had problems only until I uninstalled anydvd. Then I changed my decrypter settings to aggressive. In CSS it asks to use a key from another file and I chose yes instead of ask. I also added the old psl.file from res. evil 2. I've been able to do all my new movies and everything new that my associates have with no problems at all.

I use the settings that ScubaPete has floating around this site. I know that it's aggressive. I ripped the movie already. I'm just having a problem using DVD Shrink. I do have AnyDVD running in the background, but at this point in my process it makes no difference. This movie is just eating up my memory.
