As long as fuji keeps using taiyo yuden for there media, you cant go wrong. But they do change from time to time.Several months back I bought some fuji-r(branded) 4x that I.D as prodisc,I also heard from Herbsman one of our mods that in the U.K. they I.D. as Fujifilm03.
My suggestion to you would be if you find some that are taiyo yuden, marked made in Japan, buy all you can because they could change at anytime.

I've always used TDK 4x +R discs, this is the first time I bought the 8x ones. Does not work on my NEC ND1100-A, they get rejected. Any ideas why? Think I have the latest firmware, but I would assume they would just burn at 4x (the 4x were like $20).

Honestly, The Fuji are ok. They will play dvd backups in my Old jvc player...but not in my newer cyberhome 300...very weird. TDK 8x will play in anything.

I definetly agree about the TDK's! Play in everything! I'm using the Fuji's now with the Yuden code and they are burning nicely! Not a complaint out of me!

I'm using the Fuji's now with the TY code! Burned 50 of them so far and all are perfect! I think I'll stick with the Fuji's!

I just bought a couple hundred of those 8xFujis YUDEN000 T02 from Best Buy, and then the problems started. It takes me forever to finalize using DVD X Copy and I get a "could not perform end disc-at-once" error when burning data discs in Nero 5.5. I ran Nero InfoTool and the Fujis gave me a supported speed of 1X. Is that correct?

I also got an aspi installation corruption in Nero InfoTool. That's why I think the problem is me...especially after everybody's rave reviews for the Fuji DVD+Rs. I've burned many Fuji 4xDVD+Rs in the past with much success.

Could it be a problem with my firmware. I've never updated it...is that necessary if you've never had problems before?

if i remember correctly i think dvd x copy only writes at 4x max . as for the corrupt aspi layer i can be no help as i never have used a aspi layer even when i used dvd x copy . i have read others that have suggested using kill aspi and than reinstall the aspi layer . what brand and model burner are you using ? does it support write speeds of 8x ?
