As far as I can tell a Sharpie costs under a dollar and if you can spell you can just write the title of the movie on any DVD disk.
Now others that have a hard time spelling and prefer pictures, (like Saugmon and bbmayo,) needed to purchase their printable media along with their Epson Printers to do what most of us can do with just that Sharpie! <G>
And remember to dry your hands before touching your DVD's once they are printed to prevent your fingers from looking like you just ate a bunch of red pistachio?s!!!!! <G>
Frog legs anyone?!?!?!? :)
edit:
Now the above post might be because I?m just jealous of those guys with their new printers.... maybe?.. :)

i also use a epson printer for my dvd's . the epson r200 . i like it because my disc's look real close to what the original looks like and is much better to look at than my sloppy hand writing . a sharpie is cheaper , but it doesnt look as nice . i have to buy disc's anyhow so they might as well be inkjet printables . its all in what one prefers .

I too have a R200 and even went as far as to recopy all my backups onto hub printable media. Not that there was any thing wrong with my original backups but the inkjet printable backups just look so much more professional and pleasing to the eye as opposed to my sloppy writing, besides since I consider making backups a hobby, I enjoy doing it. Only disadvantage is the media is about twice that of non-printable media. I prefer Verbatum Datalifeplus and TY is a close second.

Saugmon... but what good will that do if you don't have all your toes from loosing them in the alligator pond?!?!?! <G>
At least you got my joke :)
Costco sells printable media, TDK ?white?, +R and ?R and both 8X. I don?t know the codes of them but have you heard anything on them yet or are they just as bad as most TDK?
Now for my other post above...
I was joking with Saugmom and bbmayo? that?s all!
I too have been looking into printable media along with an R300c printer from Costco that they had on sale for $99.95. My theory is simple. It?s much easier to remember what the heck the movie is all about by seeing a copy of the actual picture of the disk then just a title written with a Sharpie. I still have to rethink about what the movie was about or who was in it when looking at my other burns and it sure would be easier to remember if I just saw a printed version instead!

I've got 12 fingers and 12 toes and they are webbed!!! LOL
No gator ain't going to catch me.
I tell you what scubabud, the quality on those backup pics and covers are sweet. I don't do it on every one of my backups, just the better movies.
$99 is cheap for the r-300. I gave $79 for my r-200 at sams club.

lets say I use a sharpie to write the name on the disc. Then I buy the r200. Lets say that the discs were inkjet printable in the first place. Will the printer print over my handwritten label or will it still show through? I doubt anyone has experimented with this though. Any guesses?

It'll show through, tried that on some stick on labels that I printed the name of the disc on. I'm pretty sure it will be the same for printable media.

I'm new to the printable media. just got a Epson R300 last week. Is there any site have printable disk review or discussion? I heard many of them look very bad and difficult to get dry. Thanks!

If anyone goes to abacus 24-7 be sure you go to the right one. You can go to http://abacus24-7.com and get a full set for $39.95. You can also go to http://private.abacus24-7.com and get the same full set for $16.85. The funny thing is they both have the same address on Northern Ave. in Phoenix, AZ. Strange. I always get mine from the cheaper one. No problem with the ink.
