here's a problem i have. i'm in the navy currently on deployment. i just recently (4 days ago) i got a mod chip installed on my ps2, but i don't know what kind of mod chip it is. will any mod chip be good when i'm using dvd decryptor. 2nd question is can i use PAL movies on a mod ps2 or is it just PAL games that i can play.

well i am 2 for 13 in games burned. the only 2 that worked are on media that is unavailable here now. I have tried new memorex, maxell, fujifilm, verbatim and benq. Not 1 of those media worked. A 2 year old verbatim and a 2 year old Pioneer disc worked... but none of the new stuff i bought mentioned above.

since i got 2 games to record on older media, i assume the problem isnt with my burner or decrypter, but the media?

to answer the "fat 32" question, i run XP , but it didnt come on my computer. it was windows ME first, i upgraded.

I think ME was FAT32 and XP will work with either FAT32 or NTFS, so it probably saw the FAT32 format and just kept it.

jhunter, DVD Decrypter should work no matter what mod chip you have, and you should be able to play PAL movies as well as games.

ok if i can play PAL movies on the PS2. I was told by a friend that there are certain regions that can be played on the PS2, but i tried playing a bob marley dvd region 3 and it said cannot fit tv format or something to that nature. can you help me out?
