Sorry to hear about your misfortune w/ the TY's. I ordered the 100/pk cakebox from supermediastore and should get them by the end of the week. I'm going to check every single one before i use any of them. Hope I have better luck. My expectations are high going on what most people here say about them. Have u contacted supermediastore about the defects and apparent poor packaging. Not to mention the disc that wasn't even a TY? Would they let u return something like that for a refund or exchange? I chose to order the TY's from them rather than meritline because of some posts I read on meritline's forums about poor customer service. Hope supermedia's customer service is good.

yeah, i think if i wait, there should be free shipping, but mind you, supermediastore ALWAYS jacks up the price once they throw in the free shipping for their media. it's their way to make up the loss for giving up the free shipping...always a constant balance. free shipping = higher media prices, no free shipping= low media prices to fool the avg. consumer. :)

anyways, i've never had problems w/ supermediastore in the past, but, from what i've read in the supermediaforums, good lord they have HORRIBLE customer service as does meritline. people complain ALL the time about their shoddy packaging and shipping, where media gets damaged frequently by the time they arrive at the customers home. yeah, they point the finger at UPS during transit, but, at the end, i've read the customer always has to pay for return shipping which really sucks from a consumer point of view. pay double for shipping when it was the seller's fault to begin with? not good business practice in my opinion. :)

hi all, my friend just checked the media and found the following number around the inner circle "GG000102", and this is for the dvd-r 8x, not sure about the dvd+r 8x cause he didn't order it. So this is genuine ty media?

So far, it looks as if 5-6 disks in the middle were badly scratched and smudged. The odd disk is a prodiscS03 that has been used (no, I can't read it). At 29¢ a pop, I won't bother trying to return them, but I'll pass on buying any more.

you paid for TYs and received prodisc? or am i reading your post incorrectly? you should call supermediastore if you have bad discs in the middle, they should send you replacements for those $0.29 ones that are bad. good luck with it my friend.

It is true supermediastore does jack up the price when offering the free shipping. They were offering TY's for 23.00 and 8.00 shipping which ended up 1.00 less than the 32.00 I paid. I ordered from both meritline, and supermediastore and this was my first time buying online, usually buy from bestbuy or compusa. I got what I paid for and am not displeased so far and I would probably do it again. However, buying merchandise unseen is always a gamble so if you are worried then stick with the tried and true method of a dealer that you can easily return your merchandise to. Luckily I live in a state that does not make the dealer charge taxes so online buying is an option for me, once they start asking for tax I will have to decide if it is worth it. However, I will say I do like the TY disks they burn great, and play really well no errors when run through nero disk check....

amen to that~ :P countless burns perfect in every way. pricing online varies, one week they have free shipping and bump up the price to $20 more than they were selling it before, naturally to make up the difference in cost of actual product vs shipping. it's just a flip of the coin actually, do the math and go with whatever you feel comfortable with. for me, im waiting on these so called OEM Taiyo Yudens that i will update everyone on when i receive them next week~ Burnmaster...such a silly name, but, you never know, they might be pretty good and authentic~ good day to you all~
